steyrs at the war - survivor of russian fire!

happened this friday:

i got Atte (previous owner, modifications) from Forssa to the phone, about his old HZ-3 steyr 55,
and he really was the history-source, truly amazing man...

He told me that this car was actually in the war, and the car got shots from the russian army...
i would guess that this car was (while totally new) taken to the war, not even registered to finnish roads...yet.
he told me that there are some bullet holes in the backseat area somewhere...(but so far i havent seen them)

the car was also driven on its left side, thats why theres some dents...
the steyr engine went dead somewhere in its history, so they took a vw splitwindow (engine 25 hp) and it went ok 90 km/h) with that...
Atte was the man that changed the 25 hp vw engine, VW brakes, and a peugeot 203 OD transmission... then the care went 120 km/h...the car was black with red interior, (my favourite)

the body mods were made in Vanaja body-factory, to make it look a bit more modern, (happened in the late fifties)
so this is the only this kind of steyr in the world. ;-)

so the car has been surviving from russian bullets at the WWWII, customized & hopped-up in the fifties in Finland, and now it will be reconstructed & modified again in Finland... the same way that it was at the history...
brakes, engine, tranny etc... ok, this time with big disc brakes from porsche, brand X transmission, a stout v-dub engine etc...

lets see how the story will continue...

ps if you have steyr 55 seats, or the transmission )peogeot 203 OD) of this car, let me know... ;-)
